Manchester United Set to Secure Germany Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising completing the signing for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from Bayern Munich.
A Major Signing for United
The forward, with half a year left on her contract, has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival is viewed as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League team.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading strikers. According to multiple sources, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's signing should represent a major boost to the team's forward line. She has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
Gathering Momentum at Old Trafford
Securing Schüller’s signature comes at a time when the club appear to be gathering positive momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.
