Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
