BF6 Battle Royale Launches Very Soon as a F2P Game Mode
Following months of rumors, the battle royale mode for BF6 is officially releasing. Last week's rumors indicating its release would happen alongside Season 1 were spot-on. Gamers can jump into the action starting in just a day.
Season 1 Bringing a Fresh Location, Game Type, and Arsenal
Together with the battle royale release, the new season is also starting. This adds a fresh location, a new mode, and an expanded arsenal. On top of that, the Redacted Sector is arriving. An featured teaser will be released at release, offering fans a taste of what's to come.
Free-to-Play Access Makes Battle Royale Accessible to All
Possibly the most significant news is that Battlefield Redsec will be free-to-play. Similar to other games, you don't have to own the original Battlefield 6 to play. A number of participants have already experienced early versions of the mode. Those playtests were run in a testing environment, which the studio described as their largest fan involvement effort.
The intense thrill while fighting enemy players is unique in other battle royale. It's like life or death, and you genuinely worry if you die or survive.
Despite being a skeptic earlier, I'm completely for the new mode now that I've experienced it.
Such initial feedback from testers have been overwhelmingly favorable. Of course, the experience may have evolved over the past couple of months in terms of game balance and speed. Still, early signs are promising that Redsec could be a genuine competitor to popular titles. Many are expecting that the most effective firearms from the original Battlefield 6 will also apply in the new mode.
